THERMOFORMING
Vacuum forming of polymers
Vacuum forming of ABS, polycarbonate and other thermoplastics. Format up to 2450 × 1710 mm, forming height up to 720 mm, sheet thickness 1–10 mm.

Capabilities
- Maximum forming format: up to 2450 × 1710 mm; forming height: up to 720 mm
- Sheet thicknesses from 1 to 10 mm
- Materials include ABS, ABS/PMMA, PC, HIPS, PET, PMMA, KYDEX, PVC and other thermoplastics
- Further machining on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC centres
How vacuum forming works
Vacuum forming heats a polymer sheet until it can be shaped, then uses a vacuum to reproduce the mould geometry. It is well suited to enclosures, guards, covers and technical components, particularly where large dimensions, surface appearance and economical short, medium or large production runs matter.
From mould to finished part
MARTEX can manage the whole process: design review, material selection, mould design and manufacture, thermoforming, machining holes and edges, assembly and selected finishing operations. Mould geometry and subsequent CNC machining are developed as one production process from the start.
Machine selection for each project
Our machinery includes thermoforming machines with different forming capacities. Smaller parts can be made on appropriately sized machines, while larger formed parts use equipment with a larger working area. Machine selection depends on dimensions, forming height, material, geometry and planned volume.
Information for a quotation
For an initial assessment, please provide finished-part dimensions, a 3D model or drawing, the intended use, visible-surface requirements and the expected quantity. Locations of holes, fixings and machined edges are also useful. These details help us discuss sheet selection, radii and draft, mould construction and finishing. Final feasibility and material selection depend on the geometry and requirements of the individual project.
