ABS for enclosures
ABS is well suited to device enclosures, guards and technical parts requiring rigidity, an attractive surface and further machining. Depending on visual requirements, we can also use ABS/PMMA sheets, combining an ABS base with a PMMA surface layer.
Design for thermoforming
An ABS enclosure design should account for radii, draft angles, forming depth and subsequent trimming. During design, we review the division of the enclosure into separate parts, mounting locations and tool access to reduce operations and support repeatable production.
Machining and finishing after forming
After thermoforming, we CNC-machine holes, cut-outs and the final outline. Depending on the project, additional component assembly, bonding and painting are available. Customers can order forming alone or a complete part ready for further assembly.
Defining requirements for an ABS enclosure
Please identify visible surfaces, the required colour and texture, and the assembly method. Operating conditions also matter: indoor or outdoor use, exposure to cleaning agents and expected loads. If a specific ABS or ABS/PMMA grade is required, include its designation or material data sheet. This allows the project to be assessed against the properties of the selected sheet.
