FINISHING

Polymer component finishing

After thermoforming and CNC machining, we can carry out further operations to prepare a part for assembly or use in a finished device.

Polymer component finishing — MARTEX project 2

Scope of work

  • Final machining of edges, holes and cut-outs
  • Assembly of parts and subassemblies to the design
  • Bonding selected polymer components
  • Additional finishing operations matched to the project

From formed component to finished part

Thermoforming gives the part its three-dimensional geometry, but many projects also need accurate edge machining, holes, mounting features and assembly of several parts. Combining thermoforming with CNC machining and finishing lets us take a project beyond forming alone.

Assembly, bonding and final operations

We match finishing to the product construction and expected result. Depending on the project, this may include fitting additional components, joining parts and preparing the component for further operations. Painting is a separate finishing stage where the project requires it.

Repeatable series production

The finishing process can be developed for either prototypes or series production. Tooling, fixturing and operation sequences are chosen to maintain consistency across successive production batches.
